[JOURNAL ENTRY, NOVEMBER 2004:] In China, every little kid, it seems, has a grandma or grandpa that accompanies him home from school. At around three o’ clock, you’ll see whole armies of little school children wearing their red “Liberation” kerchiefs around their necks, walking home accompanied by grandma.
